  • You may not even be thinking of food and candy right now, with the election coming up, still being in the middle of a pandemic, social unrest, and LGBTQ+ and women’s rights on the line, and that’s okay.

Or you may still be freaking out about the candy that might already be surrounding you, at work, at home, in the grocery store ON TOP of all that other stuff. Which can be all too overwhelming and that’s normal too. 

Here are some quick tips on how to calm the chatter that is swirling around in your noggin around candy/sweets/sugar:

🍭Despite what diet culture has made you think, you don’t need to make up for any of the food choices you make

🍪 Having candy/sweets/sugar and enjoying it is far better on your physical, mental, and emotional health than not having it & obsessing over it, or choosing to eat it and then beat yourself up later over it

🍫 Eating more candy in one day or one weekend than you normally do isn’t going to “ruin” your health or your body
  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE SIS @scierraorton 🎉💕 how are you even 25?! It feels like just yesterday you were a little nugget always nagging me to hang out with the older kids and now you’re a quarter of a century old, have your own house, a phenomenal career and you continue to amaze me every day! I love you endlessly ♥️

  • Jumpers: the adult version of onesies, amiright?! 👶🏼

Except they don’t have the the kick-ass snaps like onesies so you basically have to get undressed every time you have to pee 😂

  • They say hindsight is 2020 & looking back on a photo from 2015, where I was the smallest I had been since high school, having just been accepted to nursing school, I sometimes miss that body. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I don’t miss? All it took to keep it:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ 1+ hours in the gym 6 days a week⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ “rest” days that still included gym time⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ tirelessly logging every morsel of food or drink I consumed into MyFitnessPal⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ tracking calories in versus calorie expenditure day in and day out⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ weighing myself each morning, never happy with the number on the scale and punishing myself, restricting food consumption and exercising even harder⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌ missing out on memories with family and friends because I was so wrapped up in how my body looked and what food I should or shouldn’t eat to make my body smaller⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
❌  remembering I still wasn’t happy with that body and felt I needed to do MORE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s not wrong for looking back at a body you once inhabited and feeling a sense of longing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But don’t for one second think that you’re any less than now, whether you’ve gained weight, lost weight, have new stretch marks, had to change clothing sizes, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Because your worth has never been based on how you look ♥️

MEET KRYSTLE

Hiiii I’m Krystle, the health and wellness expert, registered nurse, and the CEO of Holistic Tonic.  I have changed my life over the last decade by shifting my mindset from diet culture and food obsession to focus on wellness from the inside out. I broke up with my scales (for food and body) and found my self-confidence. I am a registered nurse and I put years of education to use by assisting women to care for their bodies from a holistic perspective to break up with macros, stop obsessing over food + body, quit missing memory-making moments and be present at the dinner table.
